When Hill was a freshman in college, a professor opened the first day of class by asking the "young ladies on the front row" to "please cross your legs". They complied, quizzically, then the professor stated, "now that the gates of hell are closed . . . we can begin."
DIFFERENT TRAINS GALLERY (432 East Howard Avenue no. 24) is proud to present a one-woman show by Atlanta-based artist Luzene Hill. "Now that the Gates of Hell are closed…" is an exhibition of new drawings that "challenge male dictated hierarchies" and "advance female agency".
