October 1, 2021 (Atlanta, Georgia) -- The WADDI art gallery, 26 Waddell St NE ATL 30307, will open a new photography exhibition: TIME FRAMES: Jim Alexander & Carlos York, as part of Atlanta Celebrates Photography. The show is being co-produced by VINSONart and Hagan Arts and they invite the public to an all-day opening reception on Saturday, October 30, from 11am - 8pm.

Hagan Arts is a nonprofit art and culture philanthropy affiliated with the Hagan Family Foundation, that supports American and British artists by developing programming, hosting exhibits and collecting art that reflect British and American culture. VINSONart is an Atlanta-based art advisory and artist agency co-owned by artist Ruth Franklin and Shawn Vinson, the curator and gallery director at the WADDI.

When Chad Hagan was looking for a venue to present a show during Atlanta Celebrates Photography, he was pointed to Shawn Vinson through mutual friends. A small group show was discussed and the two quickly agreed that a two man exhibition for Alexander and York was the way to go. Hagan is a champion of Carlos York, a former educator turned photographer who is making his art gallery debut, having been showing his work exclusively online since 2014. His spontaneous street and documentary photography is his way of "learning to write without paper", as he puts it. His goal is to  capture the emotion or the essence of whatever it is he's engaged in.

Vinson asked the legendary photographer of Black Culture and Human Rights, Jim Alexander, if he too would like to participate. The two first worked together when Vinson featured Alexander's work at his eponymous Decatur Square gallery.
