“If I’m not the problem, there is no solution“.

- The Real Frank Tee

VINSONart presents a one-man, three-day, pop-up exhibition for Atlanta artist The Real Frank Tee, featuring live music by Kevn Kinney and Clay Harper on opening night, Thursday, July 29, from 6 to 9pm. The exhibition will also be open from 11am to 5pm on Friday, June 30th and Saturday, July 1st at 378 Clifton Road NE in Candler Park (the former 378 Gallery).

When prodded for the ubiquitous artist statement, The Real Frank Tee replied, "If I'm not the problem, there is no solution". His new exhibition centers around an installation of a house made from signs collected from intersections from different parts of town. The artist explains that "they were attractive to me as art made out of desperation, or maybe deceit, provoking a process in me from anger, to blame and judgment, to compassion, empathy and kindness - the stages I personally go through when I see one."

Other works in the show include a series of paintings called "mix tapes", which "are recollections of simpler times when music was Big to me and not as easy to access. The intention is only to first provoke thought and relate to others of a process when uncomfortable. We may all act the same and differently depending on our place in life at the moment. The second is nostalgic, to just remember when…".

Veteran Atlanta gallerist Shawn Vinson was recruited to help curate, install and promote the show and he didn't hesitate for a second. He shared "I've had the privilege of working with 'Frank' and showing his art for some time now, and I'm a big fan. He's not doing it for personal plaudits or fame, thus, the pseudonym. He's not in it for the money, he donates the proceeds of his art sales to animal charities. He makes art as a form of self therapy, to soothe his soul. It's real and it's from his heart".

OPENING NIGHT: Thursday, June 29th, 6 to 9pm

EXHIBITION OPEN: Friday, June 30th & Saturday, July 1st from 11am to 5pm
