Kevn Kinney & Special Guests: Live at The Sun ATL: in celebration of Anna Jensen's "Let's Go Dancing" Exhibition
On Wednesday, May 13, 6-9 PM, The Sun ATL brings live music into the gallery for the first time - an intimate evening with Kevn Kinney and special guests, performing songs from the catalog that inspired our current exhibition.
Let's Go Dancing features paintings by Anna Jensen, each created in response to a song from Kinney's body of work. The exhibition is part of an expansive ongoing project: Tasty Goody Records, founded by Jensen, is rerecording 100 of Kinney's songs with a wide community of collaborating musicians - four volumes out now on vinyl and CD, two more in the works. Over half of the 100 paintings are on view through May 23, with original works, prints, vinyl and CDs available for purchase. Jensen will be present throughout the evening.
Kinney is a Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee and the longtime frontman of Drivin N Cryin. There aren't many chances to hear an artist perform surrounded by paintings inspired by his own songs. This is one of them.
As for the special guests: we're not clowning around. We just can't say more than that right now.
Doors open at 5 PM. Capacity is limited. Advance tickets highly recomended!
