ARTIST CONTEXT
Yusef Lateef was a multi-instrumentalist, composer, educator, and early pioneer in bringing global instruments and musical traditions into modern jazz. His sound embraced tenor saxophone, flute, oboe, and instruments from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
