To construct a larger and sturdier model of the UHSC 7-3(2) I designed a connector that could be used to connect standard aluminum tubes. The connectors can be made using the 3D print technique and different materials can be used varying from nylon to metal. The choice depends on the way we want to fix the tubes to the connector. For the initial models I used glue, while later I decided to fix the tubes to the connector with small bolts.
At the Gathering 4 Gardner Conference in Atlanta in 2014, we built a frame model of the UHSC 7-3(2). This was a group construction event. The connectors and the tubes were prepared in advance, so that the participants only had to fix the connections with bolts.
