Raphael Bahindwa is a Fine Artist disciplined in Painting who emanates from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). In 2022, He received his B.F.A. in Painting from SCAD Atlanta. Throughout his time at SCAD, he has been able to sharpen his skills on the canvas.
Raphael was born and raised in the DRC. With aspirations of becoming a professional artist, he moved to America to elevate his education. His artistic influences include Salvador Dalí and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Often, Raphael offers artist talks about the context of his work. He details the profound significance of growing up in the Congo. As an artistic visionary, his work speaks to the future. His paintings express Afrofuturism through enlightened brush strokes. He quotes, " I love the Congo! Unfortunately, art is not yet respected. Compared to America, it is the opposite".
Raphael's mastery has caught the eyes of Vogue Magazine, Adidas, The Athlete's Foot, Atlanta Open Tennis, and the Mayor of Atlanta, Andre Dickens.
