Akio Hizume is an architect, artist, and mathematician exploring geometry, architecture, and music through the Golden Mean ratio. His signature "Star Cages" are large-scale geometric bamboo sculptures installed globally, including a pioneering self-standing design for visitors to enter. A graduate of Kyoto Technical and Textile University (1987), he later taught at Musashino Art University and Ryukoku University. His work includes the 1995 "Fibonacci Kecak" musical composition and merges scientific precision with artistic innovation through bamboo as an experimental medium. Major exhibitions include shows at Ohio University's Wilkes Gallery and Shizuoka City Museum of Art.
